Beginning students ages six to thirteen who are interested in learning Japanese language and culture are welcome. Basic structures as well as useful daily expressions are taught in class. Also, hiragana/katakana (Japanese alphabets) will be introduced.
Fun Japanese 2 - Saturday 9:00am - 12:00noon September 17 - December 3, 2011This course is great for continuing students or students with some Japanese background. Students will tackle more advanced structures and expressions in speaking skills. Reading and writing hiragana/katakana are reinforced and some kanji are introduced.

If your school doesn’t have a Japanese language program but you are interested in taking Japanese, come to Bridges Academy! High school Japanese 1,2 & 3 are offered at Bridges Academy. High school credits will be granted and are transferable to your high school. Classes start in September 2011.

MANGA (Japanese comic) and ANIME (Japanese animation) are known in world wide now and getting pretty popular among young people. More and more people are studying Japanese language because they are attracted to this Japanese new pop culture. This course features daily use expressions and phrases through MANGA rather than text book grammar. We can assure that students will study Japanese effectively and have fun learning at OSULA. Once you learn how to read and write as well as how to speak and listen to Japanese, you will be able to understand more of your favorite MANGA / ANIME and enjoy it more. Suggested ages for this course are ages 8 to 17. Classes meet once a week on Tuesday, 4:30-5:30pm for Manga de Nihongo 1 and for the continuing students Wednesday, 4:30-5:30pm for Manga de Nihongo 2. Each session has 10 hours of instruction.

Learn simple structures and useful expressions such as greetings, introductions, phone numbers, time and days/months, telling locations and giving directions, and so on. Basic verbs in both present and past tenses are introduced. Students also learn to read and write Hiragana (phonetic symbols) in this course. Japanese 2a - September 19 – December 5, 2011 Monday & Wednesday night 7-9pmThose who have already acquired a solid foundation in Japanese or have completed our beginning course (Japanese 1) will by provided with more detail and complex structures. Students learn how to compare two or more things, describe things and situations in more detail, state one's opinions, use comparative forms, combine two or more verbs and adjectives, and conjugate more verbs. Also, approximately 70 Kanji will be introduced by the end of this course, along with the further use of Hiragana and Katakana. Japanese 4a - September 19 – December 5, 2011 Monday & Wednesday night 7-9pmThis course is for those who have completed our Japanese 3c or have mastered the lower advanced level of Japanese. Students should know all grammatical things and structures. Students will be able to speak conversational Japanese rather than using plain forms. Honorifics and formal nouns are introduced.
